Article 93
The house of the people shall, as soon as may be, choose to members of the house to be respectively speaker and deputy speaker there of and, so often as the office of Speaker or deputy speaker become speak it, the house and choose another member to be speaker, deputy speaker.
The speaker and the deputy Speaker are chosen by the Lok Sabha from among its members and takes oath as a member of Lok Sabha but not as the Speaker or deputy speaker.
Term of office Of the speaker and deputy Speaker
The speaker and deputy speaker normally holds office during the life of the house, but office may terminate earlier in In any of the following ways:
By seizing to be a member of the House.
By resignation in writing addressed to the Deputy Speaker and vice versa
By normal removal from the office by a resolution, passed by a majority of all the then members of the house.(Article 94)
Resolution to remove speaker cannot be moved and less at least 14 days notice has been given to the intention to move the resolution.
While a resolution of his removal is under consideration, the speaker cannot decide but he can speak in, take part in the proceedings of the house and vote except in the case of equality of votes.
Article 110(4)
When a money bill is transmitted from the Lok Sabha to the Rajya Sabha the Speaker may certify that it is a money bill
The decision of the Speaker on whether a bill is a money bill is final.
