Q

What is the Standard Datum Plane

A

Imaginary line we draw, where air pressure equals 29.92. Which is an average line. Line can be below or above sea level. When it matches sea level its called Standard Day

Q

Absolute Altitude

A

Height above the surface. Expressed in AGL (Above ground level). True altitude may stay the same, but absolute will change depending on terrain.

Q

Explain Magnetic Dip

A

Earth core is a large magnet, creates magnetic lines. Magnetic lines align to magnets force from the earths core. These magnetic lines are parellel at the core, then dip down to the core the further you get.
