The Air Data Computer (ADC) - Ch 9 Flashcards
Analogue Systems
Using physical properties to convey information
Voltage created represents number transmitted to analogue instrument
Several internal modules provide required outputs
Digital System
Analogue + digital inputs (1’s and 0’s)
Digital systems are less vulnerable to corruption by interference
Digital ADCs
Input = Analogue which is converted to digital via computers
Data bus that everything connects to: Processor, Memory, Inputs, outputs
Gathers information from inputs and send outputs to data bus
Redundancies
Small AC: single ADC with standby pressure instruments
Large AC: At least two ADCs
Systems that operate via ADC
Primary flight instruments Transponders Autopilot and flight director FMS Flight data recorder Warning system Thrust management
Key Inputs (to memorise)
Static Pressure
Pitot Pressure and Measured Temp (RAT)
