What is the industrial revolution?
A
It was a period of time where Britain converted from agriculture and farming to factories and mass production on products, and cities

What were the main difference seen in the agricultural revolution?
A
- The land was changed from strips to enclosed land. This wasted less space but wasn’t good for the poor as they had to then pay for land and it wasn’t as fair
- They did selective breeding which was a process where the farmers would show off the best animals and sell them
- the did crop rotation where some fields would be left for a year to recover from growing crops all the previous years.
- They tried new farming techniques and machinery

How did the domestic system work?
A
- families worked together at home
- it included everyone
- this meant families could be with their children and spend time together
- this was a very slow process though and there was no guaranteed money
- they also had to by their own materials

A
- the process was too slow
- the machinery was to big to fit in houses now
- the machinery also had to be powered by water or coal
- Britains population was growing so the production had to faster

- it was very crowded
- unhygienic
- diseases spread rapidly
- lots of pollution

- they were poorly lit
- Very cluttered
- Dangerous machinery
- Workers worked long hours with low pay
- Children had to do dangerous jobs eg. Climb up chimneys
