What is a Texas Transfer?
After a NT bid by partner, you transfer at the 4-level.
For example, 1NT, P, 4D, P, and then 4H accepting the transfer.
Texas transfer is always at least a 6 cars suit, AND promises enough for at least game…but says you don’t have interest in Slam.
Note that with interference Texas Transfers are ON.
Texas Transfer vs Jacoby Transfer (with regard to slam)
With a game hand but no interest in slam you Texas Transfer and then pass.
With Slam interest you Jacoby Transfer and rebid you suit at the 4-level. “Jacoby then Jump”.
For example, 1NT 2H, 2S 4S
