Two types of selective reading?

Critical Thinking
Defined as a series of logical mental processes that lead to a conclusion. Use critical thinking skills whenever you read a work in order to comment on it. You delve deeper into the topic and examine your feelings, impressions, and values.
Inferring
You arrive at a probable conclusion based on your evaluation of what you read or see.
When analyzing an argument what do you evaluate?
All the writer’s claims and look for failures in logic or misuse of emotion. You should also think about points that writers don’t raise. Are they avoiding certain issues?

Helps you decide whether a particular source will help or support your research.
