A
- some gasses are toxic so you should use a fume cupboard

what is the test for carbon dioxide
A
- limewater
- bubble the gas through lime water
- if it turns cloudy carbon dioxide is present

what is the test for hydrogen
A
- squeaky pop test
- hydrogen will make a squeaky pop with a lighted splint
- the sound comes from the hydrogen burning with the oxygen to form water

what is the test for oxygen
A
- glowing splint
- if oxygen is present it will relight the glowing splint

what is the test for chlorine
A
- hold damp blue litmus paper over it
- if chlorine is present it will bleach the litmus paper turning it white
