What is the basal temp method?
Oral test is taken in the morning (temp is slightly lower)
Take this over 3 cycles for best prediction
Temp will usually rise AFTER ovulation
Most fertile for 3 days after ovulation
What do ovulation prediction tests do?
Look for LH - trying to find out when ovulation will occur
LH surge before ovulation
When should you start using ovulation prediction tests?
Halfway through cycle - 3 days before midpoint
If you have a longer cycle you ovulate 14 days prior to the end, so test 14+3 days from the end (ex. 40 day cycle - test on day 23)

Cuff size matters for accurate readings
Important notes for readings
Pressure slightly higher in dominant arm
Use highest reading if arms differ
Differences of < 10mmHg between arms = no concern
Take on empty bladder
Bottom edge of cuff should be 2cm above the elbow
