Q
How do you test for hydrogen?
A
When metals react with acid, bubbles of gas are produced. The squeaky pop test shows that this gas is hydrogen. When an acid reacts with a metal the hydrogen produced makes a lighted splint go pop, because the hydrogen reacts with the oxygen.
