Sodium Citrate, Cit, 1st, Anticoagulation solution, 1 test per tube
Orange Tube- Name, Abbreviation, Order
Serum Separation Tube, SST, 2nd Common used tube, SST/ Gel- clotting activator then immediate centrifuge. 1ml= 1 Test
Green/ Lime Tube- Name, Abbreviation, Order
Lithium Heparin, LH/ LITH, specialised genetic testing, 1 test= 1 tube. Can be plain or with gel.
Purple - Name, Abbreviation, Order
EDTA, blood components, 2 tests = 1 tube, EDTA or ED
Pink - Name, Abbreviation, Order
Blood Bank, BB, Blood groups- more info to come. Anti-coagulant, 1 test= 1 tube
Grey- Name, Abbreviation, Order
Fluoride Oxalate, Flo/ GL, blood sugars, 1 test= 1 tube
