Malaria Prevention
Chloroquine
Prophylaxis for travelers going to countries where malaria is endemic
Start taking 2 weeks before and 4 weeks after travel
Nystatin PO Education
(Prototype drug for superficial infections)
Liquid.. swish and swallow or swish and spit
Let fully dissolve in mouth
Parasitic Infection-Common
Pinworm most common in US (fecal to oral… kids)
Roundworm most common worldwide
Vermox (mebendazole) (antihelminth) Teaching
Take for only 1 day but no more than 3 days
Best if chewed or taken with a fatty meal
