- Moistens Dryness, Softens Hardness
- Clears heat, Drains Fire (less use)
- Clears Heat, Reduces Swelling
(Attracts water from body into intestines)

(Assistant to Da Huang, it’s more gentle)
Fan Xie Ye *** senna, p 241
Sweet, Bitter, Cold
Channel: large Intestine
- Purgative leaf from foreigners
- drains downward and guides out stagnation
Contraindications: in women who are pregnant, breast feeding
Or have history of heavy bleeding.
- Dosage: 1.5 - 3gm…for mild laxative,
