- Common knowledge - value judgement + generally accepted.
- Direct observation + seeing is believing.
- Examples
- Documents + evidence if audience regards trustworthy.
- Statistics - can be misleading + helpful when scope is vast.
- Testimony: information given by non-speaker - relying on someone else’s judgement, convince audience of knowledge and trustworthiness.
