Abduction
Movement away from the midline of the body.
Adduction
Movement toward the midline of the body.
Anatomical =Position
Human body standing (or lying face up), arms to the side with the palms facing forward and feet side by side.
Dorsiflexion
Backward bending of either a hand or foot.
Flexion
Movement that decreases the angle of a joint (i.e. bending the joint).
Extension
Movement that increases the angle of a joint (i.e. straightening of a joint).
Pronation
Rotation of the forearm where the palm is facing down.
Prone
Lying face down.
Supination
Rotation of the forearm where the palm is facing up.
Supinator
The muscle that cause supination.
Pronator
The muscle that causes pronation.
Supine
Laying face up.
