Psychotherapy
Range of procedures which primarily involves the communication and relationship between patient and therapist. Involves non-pharmacological techniques employed by the therapist to ameliorate distress, abnormal patterns and relations or symptoms
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Therapy based on changing thinking to change behaviour and challenge irrational thoughts
Neurosis
Chronic or recurrent non-psychotic disorder characterised mainly by anxiety which is experienced or expressed directly or resulted through defence mechanism
Psychosis
Is the loss of reality, testing and impairment of mental functioning, manifested by delusions, hallucinations, confusion and impaired memory
Personality
Global descriptive label of a person’s observable behaviour and his/hers subjectively reported inner experiences
Suicide
Self murder
