Light
the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible, or artificial light
Beam
A ray or a shaft of light
Ray
each of the lines in which light (and heat) may seem to stream from the sun or any luminous body, or pass through a small opening.
Luminous
giving off light; bright or shining.
Non-luminous
Giving of fake light, somwething that seems to be giving off light but isn’t. E.g a mirror reflecting light
Speed of light
The fastes speed anything can go in the universe
Shadow
a dark area or shape produced by a body coming between rays of light and a surface.
Pupil
Allows light to come in
Retina
a layer at the back of the eyeball that contains cells sensitive to light, which trigger nerve impulses that pass via the optic nerve to the brain, where a visual image is formed.
Cornea
Protects the front of the eye
Iris
Controls the size of the pupil, as it controls the amount of light
Lens
helps the eye focus on light
Optic Nerve
Carries the image to the brain which turns it the right way around
