why is it important for a coach to be accredited?
so that coaches have a place to source information and helps them to understand the structure of coaching, participant safety, risk minimisation and keeps cracked updated with the rules

policies and procedures are implemented to help to determine any major decisions that are made.

what is a risk management plan?
risk management plans are a plan of actions that will reduce the possible risks that could occur
what is the policy and procedures of equipment? what do you do when you find damaged equipment?
all equipment is regally checked and maintained. if a item of equipment is broken it needs to be moved and put somewhere out of reach from the participants until it can be fixed by a professional or disposed of
what is the policy and procedures of ratio of participant to coach?
depending on the activity/sport being performed and the type of participant (disabled) will change the amount of coaches needed to supervise to ensure ‘duty of care’
what is the policy and procedures of provision of first aid?
coaches need to have a basic understanding if first aid and know how to respond in an emergency situation. all coaches need to hold a first aid certificate
what is the policy and procedures of the facilities and location?
a coach needs to check the facility at the beginning of the sessions for any hazards to make sure that that playing area is safe. you will also need to make sure that the participants would be able to get to the location easily
