A
  • chronic tendon injury due to overuse- repetitive loading
  • degeration, disorganisation of collagen fibres

Q

Role of the tendon

A
  • transmits force from muscle to acheive movement
  • parallel collagen fibres with tenocytes
  • surrounded by paratendon sheath
  • larglely avascular, nutrion via paratenin

muscle to bone!

Non operative

  • NSAIDS
  • steroid injections impair own bodys attempt to repair
