Explain the process of taking a rectal temperature..

A
  1. Restraint the patient
  2. Lubricate
  3. Insert into the text I’m using a gentle twisting motion. The thermometer should be directed against the upper surface of the red Tim to avoid insertion into the faecal mass.
  4. Leave until beeps indicate the reading.
  5. Remove, wipe clean
  6. Record result.
  7. Replace with in cover
  8. Note any abnormal results.
