Cutaneous nerves
Nerves that supply the skin. Penetrate deep fascia at constant points.
Superficial fascia
Connective tissue found immediately beneath the skin; layer of subcutaneous fat. Contains superficial veins and arteries as well as cutaneous nerves.
Deep fascia
Connective tissue beneath the superficial fascia and also found enclosing muscles into compartments (infection and extravasated fluids move within these compartments).
Pubic symphysis
Joint located between left and right pubic bones near the midline (above external genitalia and in front of bladder).
Jugular notch
Between the clavicle notches.
Anterior superior iliac spine
Bony projection of iliac bone (pelvis).
Xiphoid process
Cartilage of the inferior part of the sternum.
