Tech Solo Documentation - exam prep Flashcards
IMPROVISATION - SAMPLE ONE
PROCESS: referring back to learnt dance phrases which was: lunging on left leg to extend right arm high and left arm horizontally to then transfer weight and enter splits on right leg.
OUTCOME: I manipulated arm position and and transitioning movement from the lunge in order to meet the criteria of demonstrating a range of BFACTS/GLEFTS
MV: I completed the lunge but altered the upper body position to create a flat back and then take two steps backwards and collapse over my knees facing the horizontal wall
IMPROVISATION - SAMPLE TWO
PROCESS: cards specifically: 1 balance and 1 arm gesture
OUTCOME/MV: slowly rising up onto demi pointe and slowly extending my right arm vertically
allowing me to generate new movement and explore a range of BFACTS/GLEFTS
IMPROVISATION - SAMPLE THREE
PROCESS: checklist - realised I hadn’t used transference of weight through the use of flexibility
OUTCOME/MV: kneeling on my left leg to rock backwards onto the joint before transferring weight to transition into the forward splits
allowing me to meet to generate new movement which met the set criteria
SELECTION
PROCESS: performed 10 phrases while filming to determine a rase which met the criteria
OUTCOME: decided on a phrase which focused on locomotion to place in development
MV: rotating body along the floor to create a full rotation down the diagonal
allowing me to select a phrase to put in my solo which focused on meeting the criteria as it demonstrated a range of locomotion
ARRANGMENT
PROCESS: video/music influence
INTENTION: replicate the strong build in the music at the end of the dance to portray the progressive (ABC) NARRATIVE FORM which would be utilised through the use of string force in order to achieve a unified composition
OUTCOME: allowed me to establish the form of my dance as I moved a phrase previously seen in the development to the resolution in order to convey the build up of force in the last section
MV: circular round spring to cross right foot over and then jump off of left leg to bend right leg at the knee to end in a lunge
REFINEMENT BODY ACTIONS - SAMPLE ONE
PROCESS: video
REALISATION: lack of variation in stillness
MV: balance on shoulder blades while hands maintain on the floor and both legs extend into the air
OUTCOME: meet the criteria as I have displayed a range of stillness using different body parts
REFINEMENT - BODY ACTIONS - SAMPLE TWO
PROCESS: video
REALISATION: insufficient range of elevation
MV: circular spring off of right leg with the upper body inclined downwards to then land and jump off of two feet while extending sidewards.
OUTCOME: ability to demonstrate a range of body actions such as elevation to meet the criteria
REFIENEMENT - PHYSICAL SKILLS - SAMPLE ONE
PROCESS: checklist
REALISATION: lack of range in flexibility
MV: lunging on right leg to extend lower back and extend both arms beyond the line of the shoulder
OUTCOME: ability to demonstrate a range of physical skills such as flexibility
REFINEMENT - PHYSICAL SKILLS - SAMPLE TWO
PRCOESS: video
REALISATION: balance did not demonstrate a range
MV: rocking backwards onto shoulder blades and extend legs vertically into the air
OUTCOME: ability to demonstrate a range of balance in order to meet the criteria
REFINEMENT - ELEMENT OF MOVEMENT - TIME
PROCESS: video
REALISATION: a range of rhythm was not used and needed to demonstrate uneven rhythm
MV: instead of a even change to uneven as I extend left leg backwards with the corresponding arm to then bring left and right arm up leading by the elbow to then collapse down and slowly finish by bending left leg at knee with both arms extended from the shoulder with the upper body rotated to the front (1,2,+3+4,5,6,7,8,
OUTCOME: allowed me to improve my solo by adding a variation in time to meet the criteria
REFINEMENT - ELEMENT OF MOVEMENT - SPACE
PROCESS: checklist
REALISATION: range of direction was not demonstrated
MV: developed a phrase which maintained a circular direction - five chenee turns around in the circle and then complete a turning jete
OUTCOME: allowing me to display a range of direction in order to see the criteria
REFINEMENT - ELEMENT OF MOVEMENT - ENERGY
PROCESS: checklist
REALISATION: bound movement was not demonstrated and decided to refine a phrase which only demonstrated a free flow
MV: three chenee turns to then step on left leg to bend right leg in at the knee with both arms pulled in to upper body to create fists
OUTCOME: demonstrate a range of criteria with the use of contrasting free and bound flow
PRE PERFORMNCE
PROCESS: warming up appropriate muscles and joints
WHY: to prepare the muscles used in my solo such and prevent injury such as tearing of hamstring
MV: develope using the extension of the right leg in second position
EXCERCISES: leg swings, reaching towards feet with both legs extended
PERFORMANCE
PROCESS: using safe dance for potentially strenuous movement
MV: bridge to then extend right leg vertically into the air
WHY: to prevent injury to the lumbar spine
SD: core strength to sustain the position as the right leg left the floor. Through Applying safe dance I would then be able to ensure that when entering the movement I have eliminated the risk of injury
EXCERCISES: to warm up lower back muscles: seal stretch to create elasticity in the muscles
EVALUATION
INTENDED FORM: ABA with the use of manipulation of force in complimenting sections
PROCESS: video
REALISATION: that ABA was not the best use of form for my solo as I had intended to use the music to accompany a progression in force and energy throughout the dance and the ABA lacked clarity in the complimenting sections failing to unify the dance
OUTCOME: implementation of a narrative ABC form to portray the progressive use of force and energy throughout the dance which accompanied the music which began slow and progressed to a strong force in the resolution of the dance
