Director
the interpreter of the play as a whole, the one who is concerned with the total picture and decides just how to arrive at that total
Producer
the indivdual who decides to do a show and proceeded to gather money for fianace the venture
Prompt book
a copy of the script which includes the marking of all of the blocking,business and cues
Publicity manager
the person who handles the advertising and promoting of the play
Scenic designer
one who must have a sufficient background in architectural drafting, decorating basics and an understanding of scenery construction and painting
Raked stage
A slanted stage, where the upstage is slightly higher then the downstage
Pit
The part where the orchestra plays often below floor level between the autotoriam and stage
Flies
the area above the stage where scenery is hung when not in use
Teasers
horizontal curtains hung upstage of the main curtain, used to adjust the height of the stage opening and mask the flies
Apron
The stage floor between the front edge of the stage and front curtain
Cyc
a fabric hung from a semicircular track in the flies that creates a curved backdrop for performance
Curtain line
an imaginary line drawn across the stage even with the back side of proscenium
Crash box
box offstage into which something can be thrown to create the sound for breakage
Cut outs
Two-dimensional scenery

A triangular brace for supporting scenery
