What is a task?
A function, procedure, or activity that you perform for or assist the client with.
What is delegation?
The transfer of a task.
Who is ultimately accountable for a delegated task?
The delegating nurse
What are the five rights of delegation?
Right task, person, circumstances, directions and communication, supervision and evaluation
When do you have the right to refuse a delegated task?
When it is not in your job description, beyond the legal limits of your role, you are not prepared to perform the task safely, task could harm the person, persons condition has changed, do not know how to use supplies or equipment used for task.
