What are ethics?
Principles or values that guide us when deciding what is right or wrong.
What are values?
What one considers to be worthwhile or desirable qualities in a person
What are beliefs?
A conviction that something is true
What are morals?
The fundamental principles of right and virtuous conduct, not concerned with legalities or customs, often includes standards of behavior related to sexual activity
What is autonomy?
Having the freedom and choice to make decisions that affect ones life (also known as self determination)
What is justice?
Fair and equal treatment
What is beneficence?
Doing or promoting good
What is non-maleficence?
Seeking to do no harm.
What are the 4 basic ethical principles?
Autonomy, justice, beneficence, and non-maleficence.
