TD 73 Flashcards
WHAT IS THE EMERGENCY PROCEDURE FOR AN ENG FIRE IN FLIGHT?
Engine fire - Confirm
Emergency engine shutdown - when conditions permit
land as soon as possible
WHAT ARE THE OPERATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE ANVIS (CALMWWADSOS)?
Color discrimination Air/Ground speed limits Lights Magnification Weather Weapons Aircraft lighting Depth perception and distance estimation Scanning techniques Obstruction detection Spatial disorientation
3-04.4 pg.4-17
WHAT ARE THE NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL LIGHT SOURCES?
Artificial: AC position lughts, anti-collision lights, runway lights, beacon lights, artificial lights in metropolitan areas
Natural: Moonlight. The sun for up to one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise. Starlight, mostly in near infrared range and invisible to the naked eye.
3-04.93 pg.8-3
EXPLAIN METEOROLOGICAL EFFECTS THAT CAN CHANGE LIGHT LEVELS DURING NIGHT FLIGHT AND LIST THE WEATHER CONDITIONS THAT ONTRIBUTE TO THESE CONDITIONS.
Fog: Acts similar to clouds in decreasing ambient light but also may obsuce ground lights
Rain: scatters light and reduces contrast, distance estimation, and depth perception.
Snow: density of snowflakes will determine how much illumination and luminance is blocked
Sand, dust, and obscurants:
