primary TB - what is it?
A
exposed to m.tb → may develop primary infection of lungs → small lung lesion (Ghon focus) develops - made of tubercle-laden macrophages
immunocompotent people: lesion usually heals by fibrosis
immunocompromised: may develop disseminated disease (miliary tb)

secondary TB - what is it?
A
host becomes immunocompromised → reactivation in apex of lungs → may spread locally or distally

extra-pulmonary TB - sites?
A
CNS - tb meningitis - most serious complication vertebral bodies - Pott's disease cervical LNs - scrofuloderma kidneys GI tract
