  • morphology -> visual characteristics and shapes, used in the past
  • anatomy -> structures behind the morphology (discovered through dissection)

  • protists -> like pr. but can swim and hunt for food (e.g. algae)
  • plants -> eukaryotic autotrophs
  • fungi -> eukaryotes, chitin cell wall, mostly saprotrophic
  • animals -> eukaryotic heterotrophs
