Where can we find ciliated cells?
A
- in the airways - they trap dust and pathogens in the nose and throat
- oviducts - they move the egg from the ovary to the uterus

What are root hair cells?
A
plant cells w/ long extensions giving them a large S to absorb H2O and ions from the soil

What are xylem vessels (cells)?
A
- cylindrical and empty
- in columns - like pipes
- thickened cell walls with cellulose and lignin (waterproof stuff)

What are muscle cells?
A
- make up fibres that can shorten/contract
- some muscles attached to the skeleton
- their contraction moves bones and joints

What are red blood cells?
A
- contain haemoglobin -> carries oxygen
- flattened discs
