What are xylem vessels for?
A
transporting water and minerals through the plant

What are phloem tubes for?
A
transporting dissolved food (aka glucose)

What is a shoot?
A
the part of the plant above the ground (flowering plant = shoots + roots)

What is the shoot made of?
A
- stem -> structural support, bears leave etc.
- apical bud -> places where the stem grows leaves
- flowers -> held in position by the stem to enable pollination

What are dicotyledons?
A
plants with broad leaves with a network of branching veins (two cotylenods aka seed leaves)

A
plants with parallel veins (e.g. grasses)
