What are the two objectives for EOD?
To remove ordnance which is a hazard to life or property or hinders military operations
To recover ordnance for intelligence purposes when such recovery recovery is deemed essential by competent authority
What are the UK EOD ethos?
Protect and preserve human life
Mitigate and minimise impact of the incident
Inform the public and maintain public confidence
Prevent, detect and deter crime (IEDD)
Assist an early return to normality
What are the 10 phases of EOD?
1) Tasking, preparation and deployment
2) To arrival

What is EOD incident category A?
Grave and immediate threat
Category A incidents are to be given priority over all incidents, and disposal operations are to be started immediately regardless of personal risk
What is EOD incident category B?
In-direct threat
Before beginning EOD operations, a safe waiting period may be observed to reduce the hazard to EOD personnel
What is EOD incident category C?
Little threat
These incidents will normally be dealt with by EOD personnel after category A and B incidents, as the situation permits, and with minimum hazard to personnel
What is EOD instant category D?
Assigned to EOD incidents that constitute no threat at present
What is EOD priority 1?
Immediately with blue lights
What is EOD priority 2?
Immediately observing local traffic regulations
What is EOD priority 3?
The task should be cleared within 24 hours of receipt of the report
What is EOD priority 4?
The task is to be cleared within 7 days of the receipt of the report

Explosive ordnance incident report (EOINCREP)
