Task Force Tip Pro-Pack Flashcards
6 parts of tool
- 2.5 Gallon foam tank
- Twist Grip Flow Control
- Proportioning knob
- Percentage selector wheel with filter screen
- 1 ½ reducer stored attached to the Pro-Pak’s
female coupling - Outlet hose with twist-lock connection
3 types of nozzle
- Straight stream nozzle provides greatest
reach with the least foam production. - Low Expansion nozzle provides moderate
reach with moderate foam production. - Medium Expansion nozzle provides least reach but greatest foam production.
what is used for
Used for Overhaul and Small Fires where foam is required in low quantities and
low GPM.
what % of foam
Can operate using Class A foam at 0.1 % to 1.0% for ordinary combustibles.
What type of B foam do we use
We use the Class B settings with Class A foam for higher foam concentrations at
1, 3 or 6%.
How do you switch from A to B
To switch between Class A and Class B foam settings unscrew nut on top of
proportioning knob. Switch to Class B setting and tighten the knob.
What is rated flow
12 GPM @ 100 PSI
- To Flow foam 4 steps
o Connect water supply from booster or 1 1/2 hand line by removing nozzle tip
from bale and attaching to corresponding coupling.
o Attach desired nozzle to the quick connect with a ¼ turn to the right
o Turn proportioning knob to desired %
o Charge supply line, open bale and twist operating handle to start water flow/
foam.
For clear water turn the proportioning knob
to off
Maintenance: 3 steps

o Flush and disconnect hose and nozzle.
o Remove control block from unit, put on cap, turn control on half way
o Cycle proportioning knob, flush until clean water trickle from the pickup tube
o If flushing cap is not available, attach a hand line to control block, place
syphon tube in bucket of clean water and flow water while cycling
proportioning knob
3 safety
- Use the correct foam and percentage for the job
- Make sure connections are made securely
- Wear proper PPE
