Targeted Therapy Flashcards
Bevacizumab
Binds VEGF
Ibritumomab
Radiolabeled Ab against CD20, so gives very precise radiation
Brentuximab
Conjugate Ab, so has toxin on it used for lymphomas, against CD30 for HL
Rituximab Use and Risk
Good for lymphoid malignancies (Diffuse large B cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, CLL), but can result in HBV reactivation
Cetuximab
EGFR1 target, works as long as don’t have downstream Ras mutation. Good for colorectal and H&N
Trastuzumab
Herceptin
Sunitinib
VEGFR intracellular blocker for RCC
Imatinib
constitutively active c-KIT R (stem cell factor R) intracellular blocker in addition to Bcr-Abl blocker. Works in GIST. Must have kit mutation at exon 9 or 11. Cytosolic in CLL for Bcr-Abl
Temsirolimus/Everolimus
mTOR inhibitors for transplants and some tumors. Increase opportunistic infection risk/pneumonia
Vemurafenib/Dabrafenib
Good for melanoma mets with b-raf mutation V600E, but increase risk of squamos cell cancers
Proteosome Inhibitors
Good for myeloma
Sunitinib Notable SFX
Hand foot syndrome w/ calluses on weight bearing surfaces
