SC Compression Protocol
Immediate surg for dx and management
5 Causes SVC Syndrome
Lung cancer, Lymphoma (usually non-H), Thymoma, Germ Cell Tumors, Catheter-related thrombosis
SVC Syndrome Tx
Avoid empiric radiation and tx underlying cause (usually chemo)
Tumor Lysis Syndrome (when it happens and what happens)
Dumping of IC contents from tumor lysis, usually 12-72 hrs after chemo
Elevates like everything except calcemia
Tumor Lysis Syndrome Management
Treat with hydration and rasburicase, try to prevent with hydration and allopurinol
Hypercalcemia Treatment
Try to treat with fluids and bisphosphonates. Denosemab? RANKLi?
Hypercalcemia Symptoms
Poluria/dehydration/V depletion
Mental status maybe
CONSTIPATION
Leukostasis Dx and Tx
WBC>100k, respiratory distress, CXR infiltrates, confusion/blurred vision, CNS bleeding
Tx with emergent leukaphoresis
