LOD Infiltration Principles

A
  • Requires terrain, disposition, or both, that permit movement without detection
  • Alert enemy troops may prevent passage
  • Penetration requires time, detailed planning, and thorough rehearsals
  • Movement is by slow stealth
  • Routes must be covered or concealed, preferably over bad terrain
21
Q

LOD Infiltration Steps

A
  1. Leader’s recon to identify weak point
  2. Move back to patrol, conduct final preparations
  3. Patrol moves to crossing point
  4. Initiate diversion if necessary
  5. Move quickly/stealthily in formation that covers front and flanks
  6. If detected, either push through or fall back
