When in the execution of a constable shows their or uses reportable force on any person regardless of whether ot not the person has been arrested.
DEFINE “SHOWS” FORCE?
When:
- A taser is presented
- A firearm
DEFINE “USES” FORCE?
- Communication but only when used with one or more tactic below and only the first time is it used.
- Handcuffs are used.
- Mechanical restraints are used.
- Empty hand techniques.
- OC Spray (Spraying).
- A baton (striking).
- Weapon of opportunity (Police torch).
- A police dog when subjects bitten or injured.
- A taser by discharging.
- A firearm by firing
