T-tests Flashcards
T-tests
A inferential statistics test that seeks to answer the question of whether the specific t-value occurs because of sampling error or if there is a real difference.
It involves making a generalization about a population based upon what you know about the samples.
One sample t-test
A t-test that seeks to compare a sample with a population.
Between Subjects T-test
A t-test that examines if there is a significant difference between two samples/means.
Can either be independent samples, or paired samples / repeated measures
Independent Samples t-test
A type of between sample means t test that is used when there are different subjects in each group.
Repeated (Paired Sample) Measure t test
A type of between sample means t test that is used when the same subjects are used in each treatment condition.
