What is the Endocrine System and what does it do?
It is a network of glands and cells that produce and release hormones. It releases and regulates hormones.
What is the Musculoskeletal System and what does it do?
It is the system of bones, muscles, and joints. It provides the body with structure and movement.
What is the Cardiovascular/ Circulatory System and what does it do?
It is the network of blood vessels and the heart. It delivers oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and other important substances to cells and organs.
What is the Digestive System and what does it do?
It is GI (gastrointestinal) system. It Breaks down food into it’s simplest form as nutrients for the body.
What is the Respiratory System and what does it do?
It is a group of organs in your body that allows you to breathe (nose, mouth, throat, trachea [windpipe], bronchi, and lungs). It moves oxygen into the body and carbon dioxide out of the body.
What is the Immune System and what does it do?
It is a network of cells, tissues, organs, and proteins. It protects the body’s cells and defends it from infection.
What is the Nervous System and what does it do?
It is a complex network of nerves, including the brain and spinal cord. It helps the parts of the body communicate.
What is the Integumentary System and what does it do?
It is the body’s outer layer, consisting of the skin, hair, nails, and glands. It protects the inside from outside factors.
What is the Urinary System and what does it do?
It includes your kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. It filters blood and creates urine as a waste by-product.
