Define a standard
Something that is agreed to be used internationally for a specific purpose e.g. HTML

HTML, UTF-8, Java-Script

Why is a standard important
Because it allows something to be seen around the world and allows multiple different programs to communicate. for example without software standards Microsoft Outlook would be able to read GMail messages.
What is the Data Protection Act
The Data Protection Act is a law that states that anyone who stores personal data must keep it secure.
Why do computers need to be reliable?
Some computers are connected to hospitals and so it could end lives if those computers went down.
What is the Health and Safety at Work Act?
It makes employers responsible for their staff. Design
considerations should provide appropriate working conditions for staff.
What is the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act?
It makes it Illegal to use software without buying the appropriate licenses.
