System Hydraulic Flashcards
1
Q
1 system
A
Flaps Anti skid control valve Inbound roll spoilers Rudder actuator (lower) Main wheel brakes
2
Q
2 system
A
Landing gear extension/retraction Outbound roll spoilers Nose wheel steering Emergency brakes Rudder actuator (upper)
3
Q
Emergency hydraulic system
A
Emergency landing gear extension and nose wheel steering
4
Q
PTU
A
- assists the #2 standby pump in raising the landing gear in the event of a #2 engine failure or main pump failure during take-off or a go around
- the #1 hydraulic system pressure provides power to the PTU hydraulic motor which drives the PTU pump, using #2 hydraulic fluid and pressure for gear extension and retraction
- does not provide power to the entire #2 system, just the main gear
- can also be selected manually
- must be turned off after 5 minutes
5
Q
Bleed air system
A
- air is bled off the compressors of the engines for use in (can be met with only one engine)
o Air conditioning
o Pressurization (1 minute after landing, aircraft will de-pressurize)
o Pneumatic De-icing - Bleed air is also available from the APU
6
Q
De-icing surfaces and PSI
A
- leading edge of wings
- engine nacelle intakes
- horizontal stabilizer
- vertical stabilizer
Operate at 18PSI
7
Q
Hydraulic system pumps
A
Each system consists of a main engine-driven pump and an electrically driven standby pump by AC
8
Q
Name of the fluid hydraulic
A
Skydrol
9
Q
Emergency gear extension
A
Nose landing gear by airflow
Main landing gear falls to a partially extended position. Completed using emergency hand-pump
10
Q
What drives the hydraulic pumps
A
Propeller reduction gear box
11
Q
What is the pressure of the main, PTU and standby pumps
A
Main 3000 PSI
Standby 2750 PSI
PTU 2700 PSI
12
Q
Standby pump operation
A
has own AC motor
Back up main pump
