SYS: Hydraulics and Landing gear Flashcards
The hydraulic system provides power to: _____
Retract and extend the landing gear.
The electric motor driven hydraulic pump assembly incorporates:
1: PRESSURE SWITCHES
2: BYPASS RELIEF VALVES
3: THERMAL RELIEF VALVES
Normal system operating pressure is controlled by: _____
Maximum system operating pressure is limited by: _____
Maximum system holding or trapped pressure is limited by: _____
Normal system operating pressure is controlled by:
THE PRESSURE SWITCHES
Maximum system operating pressure is limited by:
THE BYPASS RELIEF VALVES
Maximum system holding or trapped pressure is limited by:
THE THERMAL RELIEF VALVES
The major component of the hydraulic system are:
1: THE THREE GEAR ACTUATORS
2: EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION VALVE
Hos does the locking-type actuators work?
The actuator assembly provides mechanical gear-down locking at the fully extend position and is hydraulically unlocked. The actuator also acts as the gear brace in the extended position.
How is gear UP operation prevented if selected in the cockpit?
By the squat switch on the left main gear.
How is the landing gear held in the UP and DOWN position?
UP: By hydraulic pressure which is trapped in the system by a check valve in the pump assembly.
DOWN: By spring loaded mechanical locking mechanisms built into each of the THREE actuating cylinders.
NOTE: When gear is hold in the DOWN position and locked, hydraulic pressure is also trapped like in the UP condition but are not required to mechanically lock the cylinders.
How does the EMER GEAR EXTENSION work?
It allows the landing gear to free fall with spring assits on the nose gear, into the extended position where the mechanical looks engage.
NOTE: Maintain the HYDRAULIC PUMP curcuit breaker in the pulled position until the aircraft in on Jacks
Landing gear system malfunction is indicated by:
1: If the red GEAR WARN does not go put after 10 sec during normal operation
2: If the red GEAR WARN illuminates steadily during flight with gear selected UP
NOTE: A amber HYDR PUMP ON Will illuminate when the hydraulic pump has been on for more than 15 sec White airborne.
NOTE: A red HYDR PUMP ON Will illuminate during any activation of the hydraulic pump while on the Ground.
The red GEAR WARN annunciator and gear warning horn Will operate simultaneously under which conditions:
1: In flight throttle is reduced to low power settings and the landing gear is not in the DOWN position.
2: In flight when the flaps are extended beyond 10˚and the landing gear is not in the DOWN position.
3: On Ground when the landing gear selector is in the UP position.
