what is a simple sentence
contains one verb in the sentence
what is a simple sentence
contains one verb in the sentence
e.g the brown dog is barking at the door.
what is a complex sentence
a sentence with a main clause and a subordinate clause (two verbs)
e.g when he wants to come in, the brown dog barks at the door.
what is a compound sentence
two main clauses linked by a conjunction (and, or , but)
e.g the brown dog is barking AND wants to come in.
what is a minor sentence
no verb
e.g brown dog. at the door
