ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION
What are medical contraindications in ED?
Heart attack
low BP
Poorly or uncontrolled high BP
Unstable angina (chest pain)
irregular heart beat or palpitations
heart problems:valve disorders
left outflow obstruction, aortic narrowing or cardiomyopathy
severe heart failure
active stomach or duodenal ulcers
pulmonary arterial hypertension
blood disorders
loss of vision as a result of damage to optic nerve

What are referral criteria?
Medical/ medication contraindications
Adverse effects for immediate referral:
chest pains
a persistent and sometimes painful erection lasting longer than 4 hours (priapism)
A sudden decrease or loss of vision
an allergic reaction
seizures or fits
serious skin reactions such as Steven Johnson syndrome
