Q

List three corrections for the Surgical Draping of this Feline OVH (spay) Procedure.

A

a. sterile gloves should be worn
b. the patient should be tied down & drapes don’t seem large enough to cover the majority of the patient and table.
c. the draping doesn’t appear to look water/fluid resistant

this doesn’t look like a proper surgery suite as well (ex: water bottle and purse on the table)

A
  • Have the instrument closed to the first ratchet. Fingers holding instrument by the box lock, hand it tip facing up to the ceiling, and ring handles towards the floor. “Smack” into the palm of the surgeon’s hand, unless it has no ring handles. In that case, place the instrument in the webbing of the thumb on the hand.
