What computers feed data to six display units?
Three Display Management Computer (DMC)
What do each of the DMC normally supply?
- DMC 1 = captain PDF, ND,”upper ECAM”, and “lower ECAM”.
- DMA 2 = first officer PFD, ND
- DMC 3 = back up
If there are any automatic functions of the DMCs in the event of a failure, explain the automatic logic.
If DMC 1 fails (or DMC3 if “CAPT3” was selected, DMC 2 automatically drives the ECAM.
What are the indications on the DUs if a DMC has failed?
“INVALID DATA” will be displayed in the respective EFIS/ECAM display unit.
What happens when the upper ECAM display fails?
The E/WD automatically replaces the SD on the lower ECAM display.
If both the E/WD and SD display unit fails, how can the E/WD information be display?
By selecting the ECAM/ND XFR switch to CAPT or FO
