Where is SV used ?
A
- London Mayoral elections to produce an outright winner

How does supplementary vote work ?
A
- Voters have 2 choices and if a candidate achieves an overall majority they are automatically elected, if this doesn’t happen then the top 2 candidates go to a second round of counting where one is the outright winner
- It is a majoritarian system

- They may not enjoy the support of an overall majority
- It is harder for individuals or smaller parties to fund eg Benita (LD) withdrew her candidacy due to the unpaid nature of the role following it being postponed due to COVID
