What is Lidocaine with epinephrine used for?
Numbs and vasoconstrictor
Where is Lidocaine with epinephrine injected and where shouldn’t it be injected?
Injected into the surgery area, and not injected into the tips of any extremities
What does a Spinal/epidural Nerve Block do?
Takes away pain by blocking the nerves
What are three things to remember with a Spinal/epidural Nerve Block?
-check injection sites for infection signs
- check for feeling in legs before getting up
-lasts up to 12 hours
What medication can cause malignant hyperthermia?
Inhalation anesthetics
What is the drug of choice for malignant hyperthermia?
dantrolene
What is a low dose of aspirin good for?
Protect from MI and strokes
Who shouldn’t take aspirin?
people with bleeding disorders or peptic ulcers
What does ibuprofen do?
reduces pain and is anti-inflammatory
What can ibuprofen cause?
stomach issues
