Ductal Carcinoma in situ
Histological dx … ductal epithelium that don’t penetrate the basement membrane
nipple discharge and breast mass
Intermittent bloody d/c from one nipple
intraductal papilloma
intradutal papilloma location
most are situated beneath the areola
ultrasound limitations
can’t detect things smaller than 1 cm
can intraductal papilloma be detected on ultrasound
not necessarily… most are no larger than 2mm
intraductal papilloma benign or malignant
benign
non-healing wounds
suspect SCC
non-healing burn wound/ SCC in a burn wound
Marjolin ulcer
foamy macrophages and fat globules
fat necrosis (may mimic breast cancer)
Inflammatory Breast Carcinoma presentation
orange peel appearance (not Pagets) over a breast mass. usually with discharge. Spreads rapidly
firm moveable mass in LUQ of breast
fibroadenoma
