A
RN who is NON-sterile and remains in the unsterile field.

What does a scrub nurse do?
A
RN, LPN, or CORT performs a surgical scrub, dresses in sterile gown and gloves, and remains in the sterile field throughout the procedure.

Identify the pt by asking the person to state name, birth date, and operative procedure and location. Compare the hospital ID number with the pt’s own ID and chart.
