Ibn Kathir (Tafsir):
As-Samad means the one who is sought for all needs, the master without flaws or weaknesses.
Al-Tabari:
As-Samad is the one who has no superior, is complete in power and authority, and is the final resort for everything.
Ibn Abbas (RA):
He described As-Samad as the one who is perfect in all attributes and completely independent.
