Extraperitoneal- organs are outside the peritoneal sac
Intraperitoneal-organs are inside the peritoneal organs
Retroperitoneal-behind the peritoneum

Lies predominantly epigastric and right hypochondriac and extends the left hypochondriac
Lobes of the liver?
Caudrate
Quadrate
What are the two surfaces of the liver?
Diaphragmatic and visceral
Where does the falciform ligament run through?
Extends from anterior surface of the liver to the thoracic diaphragm and anterior abdominal wall and to the umbilicus
At the visceral surface what isn’t covered by parietal peritoneum?
Ports hepatitis and the groove for the gallbladder
What are the contents of the hepatic pedicle?
Portal vein Common hepatic duct Supra duodenal part of common bile duct Cystic artery and cystic duct Hepatic artery and its terminal branches Hepatic lymph nodes
Blood supply of the liver?
Hepatic portal vein (70%); left and right hepatic arteries (30%) terminal branches of the hepatic artery proper
Where do the hepatic veins drain into?
Inferior Vena cava
Parts of the gall bladder?
Fundus and neck
Relations of the gall bladder?
Liver, duodenum and transverse colon
Right and left hepatic ducts unite to form?
Common hepatic duct
What are the three parts of the common bile duct?
Supraduodenal, retroduodenal and infraduodenal

Hepatopancreatic ampulla
